L’EAU ET LES REVES is a contemplative digital work based on a mineral painting with natural pigments by artist Mathias Bensimon. Begun physically in the artist’s studio, then completed with the children during workshops, the work has been digitally adapted for the Illuminart device. This is the first time the artist has ventured into the digital realm.
The work was set in motion and created in collaboration with cellist Yu Lin Humm, to create an original, multi-sensory immersive experience. During his workshops, the artist introduced the children to his various painting techniques: watercolor, gouache, light and color. He also teamed up with musician Sylvain Rabourdin, to enable the children to paint to music, with meditation breaks provided by philosophy teacher Juliette Bensimon and meditation teacher Mathieu Brégégère.
The work created was inspired by all these encounters. Mathias then finalized the painting with natural pigments, watercolor and mother-of-pearl, and set it in motion to create a contemplative, musical work of art.
