Poésies découpées is a poetic, visual and musical creation, in the tradition of the surrealist collages of the early 20th century. The creations were made by sick children in hospital, under the guidance of artist-filmmaker Benoît Labourdette. 1 looped video – duration: 15 minutes and 8 individual videos – total duration: 10 minutes

The project

During the workshop, the hospitalized children and teenagers were each able to create their own short film using cut-out paper and musical sounds.

It’s a simple, fun, joyful and immediately understandable activity, which can be short or longer, depending on each person’s abilities. In groups, with the teams of educators and the artist. Eight short animated films were produced, and set to music using all kinds of instruments brought along by the artist in his suitcases. They will now join the works in the Illuminart installation.

The artist then arranged each film in such a way as to create a support for dreams and fantasy, which will be good for everyone, young and old alike.
